Job summary

The City of Deming is seeking a qualified Maintenance Tech for the Streets Department. This regular, full-time position requires a NM driver’s license and a clean driving record, with prior related work preferred.

Tasks include routine manual labor and basic maintenance under supervision. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of standard hand tools, and the ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• Valid NM Driver's License and clean driving record.
• HS Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of the care and use of standard hand tools used in public works.
• Ability to read, understand and follow specific written and oral instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods, often under unfavorable weather conditions.
• Individuals offered employment will pass a pre-employment physical, drug test and background check.

• Perform routine, unskilled manual labor in support of the City’s Streets Department and Public Works.
• Assist with maintenance tasks under general supervision.
• Utilize basic hand tools to support public works projects.
