Job summary

The City of Deming is seeking a qualified Maintenance Tech for the Streets Department. This regular, full-time position requires a NM driver’s license and a clean driving record, with prior related work preferred.

Tasks include routine manual labor and basic maintenance under supervision. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED, knowledge of standard hand tools, and the ability to read and follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

Maintenance Tech – Streets Department, Range 6, $15.00/hr.

The City of Deming is seeking qualified applicants regular, full time Maintenance Tech, located in the Streets Department. Position requires a valid State of New Mexico driver's license and clean driving record; previous department-related work experience is preferred.

Laborers in the City of Deming perform routine, unskilled manual labor in support of the Community

Service and Public Works Department. Employees in this class perform work of a manual nature that

does not require a high degree of manipulative skill or previous experience in order to do an effective job.

Work is usually closely supervised, but many types of work assignments may be routine and repetitive in

nature and once learned can be performed under only general supervision.
