Job summary

The City of Indianapolis and Marion County's Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking a maintenance worker to support Parks, Street, or Traffic maintenance sections. This role focuses on manual labor, equipment operation, and safety to keep public spaces and infrastructure in good condition.

Responsibilities include snow plowing, mowing, debris removal, pothole patching, and assisting other crews. A high school diploma and ability to lift 25 pounds are required; a Class A CDL is preferred,

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 25 pounds.
• A valid Class A CDL Driver’s License is preferred; Class B license required.

Responsibilities

• Plows snow, mows grass and performs other duties associated with the maintenance of municipal Streets and Parks infrastructure using equipment such as snow plow, salt spreader, lawn mower, and related tools.
• Assists workers of other crews in their duties and supports sign manufacturing/installation activities as needed.
• Performs minor concrete work, patching of chuckholes, debris removal, and sidewalk/curb patching while maintaining safety regulations.
• Maintains daily records and logs of work completed and supplies used, and follows all safety protocols.
