Job summary

The City of Indianapolis & Marion County seeks a Maintenance Supervisor within the Department of Public Works to oversee staff and equipment for bridges, drainage, patching, grading, and snow/ice control. You will establish policies, supervise a crew, review progress, and ensure safety and quality across assigned districts.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or equivalent with supervisory experience, knowledge of road maintenance, and the ability to communicate effectively.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with four years of experience in crew supervision or two years of supervisory experience over six or more employees.
• Knowledge of departmental rules, regulations and standards involving road and street maintenance preferred.
• Ability to delegate authority and responsibilities; communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Patrol designated area to assess surface conditions and investigate complaints.
• Plan routes, assign duties, and review daily work of crew.
• Ensure completion of projects and maintain area infrastructure.
