Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform a variety of streets, drainage, sewer line, airport, park, and public facility maintenance tasks. You will operate a wide range of equipment to support repairs and upkeep, and assist with concrete, asphalt, and landscaping work.

Applicants should have two years of maintenance experience, a Texas Driver's License with a good driving history, and may need a CDL P during tenure.

Qualifications

Two years of experience performing maintenance and labor work.
Texas Driver's License with good driving history.
CDL P (Permit) may be required during tenure; proof of hours may be considered for CDL eligibility.

Responsibilities

Performs maintenance work such as setting forms, mixing and pouring concrete, and laying asphalt for sidewalks, curbs, gutters or streets.
Lays pipes for storm or sanitary sewers, drains, and water mains.
Loads and unloads tools and materials for repairs.
Flags traffic and sets out safety devices to protect crew and public.
Digs trenches and clears debris; prepares surfaces for repairs.
Operates power tools and equipment to remove debris or blockages.
Drives dump trucks or other vehicles to transport tools and materials.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and tracks inventory.
