Job summary

The City of Mesquite is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform general maintenance, installation, and repair of concrete, asphalt, drainage, and water/sewer piping for the city’s infrastructure.

You will support public and department staff, operate a range of equipment, and ensure safety procedures are followed. The role is full-time, with a 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. schedule, overtime as needed, and requires a valid Texas driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must have valid driver's license.
• Six (6) months general labor experience required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment including trucks and concrete tools to repair and install concrete, asphalt and drainage structures.
• Inspect and restore equipment fluid levels; lubricate and report repairs as needed.
• Locate and repair water and sewer piping; assist with excavation and traffic safety duties.
• Provide support to division staff and complete daily work logs and work orders.
