Job summary

The City of DeKalb is seeking a Public Works Maintenance employee for the Street Division, performing manual work including street surface, culvert and storm sewer repair, landscape maintenance, snowplowing, tree trimming, and leaf pickup.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and be able to obtain a CDL within an agreed timeframe. This is an emergency response role requiring call-out availability and residency within the mapped area.

Qualifications

• Emergency response position; must be available for call outs and reside within the residency map boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual maintenance work in the Street Division: repair street surfaces, culverts and storm sewers.
• Involve landscape maintenance, snowplowing, tree trimming, and leaf pickup.
• Work in an emergency response posture and respond to call outs as needed.
• Maintain equipment and report hazards or needed repairs.
• Collaborate with other City teams to ensure safe and timely work.
