City of Highland Park seeks a maintenance worker to perform snow-related tasks and general street maintenance to support public infrastructure.

Primary Purpose: Performs snow-related tasks and general maintenance, repair, and service duties to support the City's public infrastructure. Work may include snow removal, roadway patching, and assisting with maintenance of water systems, storm sewers, and sanitary lines. Assignments may vary based on operational needs and weather conditions.
Supervision Received: Works under the direct supervision of the Street Foreman or Duty Foreman.

High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
One year of relevant municipal or construction trade experience is preferred. Must provide proof of satisfactory prior work performance in public works or similar trades.
A valid Illinois Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B), or equivalent, is required at the time of hire.
Practices and procedures for safe operation of materials, machinery, vehicles and equipment necessary for street, sewer and water distribution maintenance; occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to public works maintenance. Ability to: Read and follow work orders, use hand and power tools; follow safety precautions and recognize hazards; communicate orally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
