Job summary

The Village of South Holland, Illinois, is looking for a Landscape Professional to join the Public Works Department. You will perform entry-level work in construction, demolition, installation and repair of Village assets, and support parks and grounds maintenance using hand tools and light equipment.

Responsibilities include routine horticultural tasks and minor facility and equipment repairs, with driving duties for garbage pickup and yard waste.

Qualifications

Must have experience in Municipal Public Works, Parks Maintenance, or related fields such as concrete or asphalt work.
Must have experience in underground utility construction or sports field maintenance.
High school diploma/GED equivalent is required.
Possession of a valid driver’s license.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License or the ability to acquire a license within 90 days of hire.
Maintain that License and Endorsements without interruption throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Assist in construction, demolition, installation and repair of Village assets.
Perform routine horticultural tasks and grounds maintenance in all weather conditions.
Operate hand tools and light equipment and drive pickup or dump trucks as needed.
