City of Carrollton is seeking a Public Works Heavy Equipment Operator to operate a wide range of vehicles and support divisions in wastewater and street maintenance. The role requires clean driving records, a valid Class A CDL, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities include equipment operation, preventive maintenance, traffic control, and reporting. The position involves outdoor work, emergency response, and potential cross-area assignments.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of related equipment operations experience.
• Equivalent combination of education, experience and training accepted.
• Preference for Texas TCEQ license.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of light to heavy equipment at job sites as assigned.
• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Monitor inventory levels to support division operations.
• Repair water and sewer lines and related infrastructure as needed.
• Set up traffic control devices and direct traffic around worksites.
• Complete logs and simple reports on materials and equipment.
• Support winter weather operations and emergency responses.
• Assist in other duties as assigned.
