Town of Vail is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator II to operate loaders, backhoes, and dump trucks for street and structure construction, drainage work, and snow removal. The role requires a flexible schedule with winter plowing and potential assignments across Public Works.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, a CDL Class B (or ability to obtain within 30 days), and the ability to lift at least 100 lbs; experience with public works operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience operating loaders, backhoes, dump trucks and other public works equipment.
• Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Experience working with the public.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of light, medium, and heavy public works vehicles and equipment for street construction and repair.
• Perform snow plowing and removal during winter.
• Assists in drainage maintenance and sign fabrication as needed.
• Be prepared to be assigned to any Public Works area daily.
