The Town of Avon, Colorado, is seeking a Public Works Operator II to operate a range of heavy and light equipment and assist with maintaining roads, parks, stormwater infrastructure, and related facilities.

Essential duties include routine maintenance, snow/ice removal, traffic control, and field setup for Recreation programs and events. A high school diploma, 5+ years of relevant experience, and CDL are required, with strong safety and teamwork values emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with relevant equipment operation experience.
• CDL required; Flagger Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of snow removal, plants, turf and safety practices in public works.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of heavy and small equipment and tools.
• Performs routine pre/post checks and basic maintenance; coordinates with fleet mechanics for major repairs.
• Plows snow and clears ice from streets, sidewalks, and parking lots; sands and de-ices as needed.
• Sweeps and cleans roadways, parks, trails; maintains culverts and storm sewers.
• Assists with field setup and painting for Recreation programs and special events.
