Job summary

The City of Venice in Florida is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator to perform motorized equipment operation and manual labor in property maintenance.

You will transport materials, prepare sites, and ensure accurate documentation, with safety as a priority and ability to work outdoors in all weather. The position starts at $44,326 per year and may increase with experience, with veteran preference available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Florida class B CDL with endorsements or ability to obtain within six months.
• MOT certification within one year of hire date.
• Ability to read and follow written directions and complete forms accurately.
• Must have good attendance and be able to work outdoors in all weather.

Responsibilities

• Operate motorized equipment as assigned.
• Transport supplies, tools, or other equipment to and from job site.
• Perform manual labor required for site preparation and restoration.
• Accurately and legibly complete and maintain work orders, records, reports, forms and other required documentation.
• May be responsible for leading or directing work group in the absence of supervisory personnel as assigned.
