Job summary

City of Venice is seeking a full-time Heavy Equipment Operator in Public Works to support operations and property maintenance. You will operate motorized equipment and perform manual labor as assigned to ensure city services run smoothly and emergency duties can be covered.

The role requires a High School diploma, a Florida CDL Class B with endorsements or ability to obtain within six months, and MOT certification within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma and valid Florida CDL B with endorsements or permit and plan to obtain B CDL within six months.
• Ability to safely operate motorized and heavy equipment used in the department.
• Ability to read, understand and complete forms, reports and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Operates motorized equipment as assigned.
• Transports supplies, tools, and equipment to and from the job site.
• Performs manual labor for site preparation and restoration on assigned projects.
• Completes work orders and reports accurately.
