Job summary

Richland County Government seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to support public works road maintenance and construction across the county. You will operate a range of heavy machines and assist with paving, ditching, and utility placements while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy machinery (dump trucks, excavators, dozers, skid steers, front-end loaders, backhoes) across projects.
• Assists with road/construction tasks, paving, and utility placements.
• Performs daily inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Delivers materials to work sites and supports debris removal as needed.
