Job summary

City of Phenix City is seeking a full-time equipment operator for streets, drainage and easement maintenance. You will operate a range of heavy machinery, inspect equipment, and complete service orders while coordinating with the Streets & Drainage Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license; prior heavy equipment experience is preferred and overtime may apply during winter/summer shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience with heavy equipment is required.
• Hold a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractors, trackhoes, backhoes, loaders, dozer and motor grader to support maintenance.
• Set up safety equipment including cones and signs at work zones.
• Inspect vehicles/equipment and complete repair or service orders.
• Maintain cleanliness of vehicles and assist other departments as needed.
