Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a dedicated Public Works laborer to perform a variety of manual maintenance tasks on city streets, landscaping, irrigation, and related infrastructure. The role may involve light equipment operation and requires adherence to safety procedures and city policies.

Regular attendance is expected, with potential overtime, on-call, and emergency work as needed. Typical schedule is Monday–Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m., with a one-hour lunch, and Friday mornings for

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Manual labor, landscaping, irrigation, maintenance, or construction experience preferred.
Valid Texas Class C driver's license required.
Must successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Performs general maintenance and minor repairs to streets, signs, landscaping, trees, irrigation systems, and other public infrastructure.
Performs routine landscaping, trimming, cleanup, and grounds maintenance.
Loads, unloads, transports, and operates tools, materials, and equipment.
Cleans and maintains assigned City vehicles, tools, and equipment and reports maintenance or safety concerns.
Assists with traffic control, storm preparation, emergency response, and other Public Works activities as needed.
Follows City safety procedures and properly uses required tools and protective equipment.
