City of Maypearl is seeking a Mechanic Helper to support the Public Works Department with vehicle and equipment maintenance. The role involves basic mechanical tasks, tool preparation, and ensuring a clean, safe work environment under the direction of a senior mechanic.

The candidate should have basic mechanical knowledge, be able to follow written and verbal instructions, and be willing to learn. Shift is typically 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional non-standard hours.

• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities needed for this position.

Responsabilités

• Assists the mechanic with repairing, maintaining, and servicing City vehicles, heavy equipment, machinery, and mechanical systems.
• Performs basic mechanical tasks such as tightening bolts, replacing parts, cleaning components, and lubricating equipment.
• Assists with scheduled and preventative maintenance activities on City vehicles and equipment.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, and basic mechanical equipment under supervision.
• Assists with troubleshooting and basic diagnosis of mechanical issues.
• Gathers and prepares tools, equipment, materials, and parts needed for maintenance and repair work.
• Assists with moving, lifting, positioning, and securing materials, tools, parts, and equipment.
