Job summary

The City of Redding is seeking a Public Works Maintenance Worker (Status 3 or Status 7) to perform a wide variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks citywide. This includes maintenance of facilities, open spaces, and greenbelts with funding through June 30, 2027.

Qualifications

• Typical education includes a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of the appropriate California driver's license or ability to acquire one within ten days.
• Some prior relevant maintenance experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, test, repair, or replace services, lines, valves, meters, hydrants, and backflow devices.
• Operate forklift, tractor loader, tractor mower, brush chipper, trucks and power tools.
• Perform upkeep such as asphalt or cement maintenance and repair.
• Landscape and grounds maintenance including mowing, pruning, and litter pickup.
• Support vegetation management tasks on Priority Fuel Management properties.
