Job summary

City of Plantation Public Works is hiring a Maintenance Technician to manage daily operations, maintenance, and repairs of municipal properties and public areas, including rights-of-way. Work is assigned by the Division Manager and overseen by the Crew Leader.

The role requires operating light equipment and vehicles (mowers, weed eaters, trimmers), basic first aid/CPR, and a valid driver's license. You must lift up to 100 pounds and follow EPA/OSHA safety rules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 6 months related experience or training.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Basic first aid and CPR.
• Ability to follow EPA/OSHA safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform daily operation, maintenance, and repair activities of municipal properties and public areas.
• Work as part of a maintenance crew or independently as assigned by the Division Manager or Crew Leader.
• Operate and perform preventative maintenance on light equipment and vehicles (mowers, weed-eaters, trimmers).
• Assist in construction and maintenance of streets, fences, benches, fountains, sidewalks, gutters, and storm drains.
• Clean ditches, culverts, and remove trash from roads and public areas.
