Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a Supervisor to lead a crew in public works maintenance and construction. You will supervise laborers and skilled workers, instruct on repair methods, and ensure safe procedures while transporting crew and materials to job sites.

Qualifications

Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional three to five years of experience in public works construction and maintenance, including one year of experience as crew leader; or any combination of relevant education and experience which provides the required capabilities.
Valid current Commercial Driver's License; Texas CDL-specific requirements may apply.
Possession of or ability to obtain required water/wastewater licenses within 12 months as applicable.

Responsibilities

Supervise laborers and skilled construction and maintenance workers on maintenance, repair, and construction of public works projects.
Instruct the crew on repair methods and ensure that safe procedures are followed.
Transport crew members, tools, and materials to job locations.
Make time and material estimates and assist the supervisor in planning work and making assignments.
Ensure machines and equipment are available and in proper operating condition.
Write daily reports and keep time cards.
Perform related duties as directed.
