Job summary

City of Lubbock is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to service and operate large construction equipment including backhoes, dump trucks, loaders, and excavators.

You will perform maintenance, handle field repairs, and follow written and oral instructions in a safety-conscious environment. The role requires a valid Texas CDL Class A license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a physical exam. This is a critical infrastructure position with background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 2 years progressive experience on listed equipment.
• Valid Texas CDL Class A Driver's License.
• Physical exam required.
• Critical Infrastructure position requires extensive background checks and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as backhoe (>5 ft), dump truck, loader, skid steer, excavator and other listed gear.
• Operate mechanical attachments and equipment on vehicles.
• Operate pickups and other light equipment when assigned.
• Perform related duties as directed.
