Job summary

The City of Saginaw is seeking a Maintenance Worker to support street, water, sewer, and facility tasks. This role covers asphalt and curb repairs, hydrant painting, catch basin cleaning, and general utility support in outdoor settings.

Responsibilities include operating trucks and heavy equipment, performing physically demanding labor, and adhering to safety rules. A valid CDL-A with N endorsement is required with potential overtime and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of manual labor/public works experience preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s License Class A with N endorsement required.
• Ability to obtain additional certifications as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform street repair including asphalt, concrete and curb work.
• Maintain water/sewer systems and related tasks.
• Operate trucks and heavy equipment listed in job duties.
• Perform strenuous outdoor labor and ensure safety protocols.
• Follow safety procedures in confined spaces and harsh environments.
• Carry out daily custodial duties at the Maintenance building.
• Identify and report equipment issues to leadership.
• Keep tools and work areas clean and organized.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
