Job summary

The City of Jurupa Valley is seeking an experienced Public Works Operations Manager to lead field operations in street, parks, drainage, fleet, and facilities maintenance. You will manage staff, coordinate contractors, develop goals, and align operations with City Council priorities.

This role requires strong budgeting, contract administration, and performance measurement. You will prepare reports, oversee safety, supervise supervisors, and collaborate with other departments to improve service

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of increasingly responsible management and/or administrative experience in public works maintenance, construction, and contract administration, including two years supervisory.
• Equivalent bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred for related field.
• Ability to prepare budgets, develop bid specs, and oversee contracts.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate Public Works Field Operations programs and activities.
• Plan, direct, and review work plans; assign projects; monitor workflow and quality.
• Develop goals, budgets, and staffing plans; supervise staff; provide training.
• Oversee contracts, procurement, and contractor performance; ensure compliance.
• Prepare staff reports, Council agenda items, and liaise with other departments.
