Job summary

The City of Muskogee is seeking a Public Works Equipment Operator I/II to perform semiskilled tasks in maintaining water distribution systems, streets, and sewers. The role involves operating a range of equipment and performing maintenance tasks both indoors and outdoors.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, plus two years of relevant experience, and must obtain an Oklahoma Class B CDL within nine months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience as a trades helper or maintenance laborer in construction/maintenance trades.
• Ability to obtain Oklahoma Class B CDL within nine months.

Responsibilities

• Participates in repair and replacement of fire hydrants, valves, and service lines.
• Operates backhoe, loader, bobcat, and other listed equipment.
• Performs pipefitting, taps, cement work, carpentry and painting as needed.
• Performs general manual labor and other duties as assigned.
• Must report to work regularly and on time.
