Job summary

The City of St. Cloud is seeking an Equipment Operator I to perform a range of semi-skilled and skilled tasks, including heavy manual labor and equipment operation, to maintain and repair municipal streets and infrastructure.

The role also involves waste collection and yard waste operations at the compost site, with a strong emphasis on public service. Key duties include operating heavy and light equipment, performing construction activities, and seasonal snow removal tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy and light-duty equipment.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and outdoor work.
• Comfort with winter road maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, repairs and performs construction related activities of city infrastructure.
• Operate a wide variety of heavy and light-duty equipment, attachments, and trailers.
• Performs regular heavy manual labor collecting and disposing of solid waste, recyclables, and related materials.
• Patches, crack repair, pothole filling, concrete work, overlays, and spray patching.
• Shovel, blow, and plow snow; apply anti-icing products.
