Job summary

City of St. Cloud in Florida is seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to support the Streets & Stormwater Division. You will operate heavy construction and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently while helping maintain infrastructure and public safety.

This role requires a Monday–Friday schedule with standby hours and opportunities to contribute to community projects. Candidates must meet education and licensing requirements and be prepared to perform minor maintenance and to train

Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by one year of experience.
• Must obtain and maintain Maintenance of Traffic Level I; Trenching and Shoring; Confined Space; Forklift Operator; FEMA 100, 200, & 700; CPR/First Aid within 330 days.

Responsibilities

• Operates heavy construction and maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Performs minor preventative maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Installs piping with ditching equipment and assists in utilities installation.
• Trains employees in equipment operation and safety.
• Assesses projects and selects appropriate equipment for tasks.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
