City of Sanford's Public Works/Utility Department: Water & Sewer seeks an entry-level to semi-skilled equipment operator to support installation, maintenance and repair of city infrastructure.

Responsibilities include operating varied vehicles, performing pre-trip inspections, assisting with utility locates, and maintaining safety standards in a dynamic urban environment. A High School Diploma or GED and a Florida Class B CDL are required, with NIMS training within six months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, plus 1 year related work experience and ability to perform labor-intensive work.
• Must possess a current and valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's License.
• Employee shall obtain NIMS ICS-100 Introduction to the Incident Command System and IS-700 National Incident Management System, within six months of employment.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of safe and proper use of manual, electrical, gas and hydraulic powered tools and equipment.
• Knowledge of proper barricade and signage placement for road closures.

Responsabilités

• Operate light to heavy vehicles and equipment for installation, maintenance and repair of city infrastructure.
• Perform pre-trip inspections and log recording per standards.
• Assist with utility locates and traffic control per work zone safety rules.
• Support restoration of streets, landscapes and public properties.
• Ensure safe operation and adherence to safety requirements; inspect completed work.
