Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduation from a high school or GED, with two years of related technical or college training in drafting, CAD, engineering technology, civil engineering or related field.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
• Experience and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and knowledge of civil engineering principles for municipal setting.
• MS Word, MS Excel, and Bluebeam experience; surveying skills beneficial.
• Ability to prepare and maintain engineering data, reports and systems; communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce construction plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D; assist in the design process.
• Perform routine and complex technical engineering work for streets, stormwater, parks, utilities and other public works projects.
• Assist Engineers with evaluating field conditions, developing reports, cost estimates, construction plans and specifications.
• Confer with Engineers to identify project parameters, standards, and specifications.
• Support construction inspection activities as needed.
