Job summary

City of Valdosta is seeking a maintenance worker to perform street and drainage system maintenance and repair duties in Valdosta, GA. The role will involve keeping ditches, basins, and pipes in good condition, flagging traffic at work sites, and maintaining vehicles and equipment.

Responsibilities include sidewalk and curb repairs, repairing street water and sewer cuts, installing road signs, and operating a backhoe, tamper, and a variety of hand and power tools. No prior experience is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of street and drainage system maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of the tools and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of city infrastructure.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.
• Skill in the operation of assigned vehicles/equipment.
