Job summary

Civil Science seeks an experienced Public Works Division Manager to lead and grow our North Dakota public works practice. You will oversee PMs, engineers, surveyors, and staff, reporting to the Area Manager, and drive technical excellence, business development, and leadership across the division.

The role requires ND licensure, a civil engineering degree, and 12+ years in public works with a focus on water, sewer, drainage, and land development. Travel across ND and nearby states is expected.

Qualifications

• Must hold North Dakota PE license.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering required.
• 12+ years of experience in public works and civil infrastructure projects (water, sewer, storm, land development).
• Proven ability to develop and sustain revenue-generating client relationships in ND public works market.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
• Ability to travel across North Dakota and surrounding states.

Responsibilities

• Set strategic direction for the public works division.
• Lead division planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance tracking.
• Drive quality, risk management and safety compliance within the division.
• Mentor staff and manage performance programs.
• Represent Civil Science in municipal, regional, and state forums.
