The City of Stephenville is seeking a Full-Time Director of Public Works under the City Manager to lead municipal utilities, streets, drainage and landfill programs, and oversee project delivery and staff supervision.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Public Administration, Construction Management, or a closely related field; five years in municipal public works with at least two years in administrative/supervisory roles (seven years preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in civil engineering, public administration, construction management, or a closely related field.
• Five (5) years of progressively responsible municipal public works or utility operations experience, including at least two (2) years in administrative and supervisory roles.
• An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Seven (7) years of increasingly responsible utility services operations experience with supervisory responsibility preferred.

Responsabilités

• Supervises division superintendents and department staff; selects, trains, motivates, and evaluates personnel.
• Oversees budgeting: prepares requests, forecasts funds, monitors expenditures, and adjusts as needed.
• Directs long-range plans for water, sewer, streets, drainage, and landfill.
• Oversees development/update of city plans (sewer, water, capital improvements, streets, landfill).
• Ensures compliance with codes, regulations, procurement, and contract criteria.
• Coordinates projects and staff across departments; reports to City Administrator and City Council.
• Responds to inquiries and maintains liaison with agencies and the public.
