GovHRUSA is assisting the Town of Mooresville, NC in recruiting a Public Works Director to lead essential municipal services for a fast-growing community.

The ideal candidate will have at least seven years in a senior public works role, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and preferred PE certification. The position offers strategic leadership, budget oversight, and opportunities to shape long-term infrastructure investments.

Qualifications

• Seven years of progressively responsible management experience in public works, utilities, or municipal operations.
• Bachelor's degree required; Master’s preferred; PE certification preferred.
• Experience leading large budgets and complex projects with diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of the Public Works Division.
• Oversee stormwater, solid waste/recycling, and streets operations.
• Develop and manage budgets, contracts, and capital projects.
• Collaborate with Town leadership and Boards to align services with community growth.
