Job summary

The City of Corsicana seeks an Assistant Public Works Director - Utilities to lead water distribution, wastewater collection, drainage maintenance and utility infrastructure projects. You will work under the Public Works Director to manage planning, budgeting, capital projects, asset management, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include coordinating divisions, supervising staff, ensuring safety, and providing reports to city leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or closely related field.
• Ten years municipal Public Works, water distribution, wastewater collection, utility operations, infrastructure management, construction management, engineering, or related field with at least five years in supervisory roles.
• Ability to obtain Class C Water Distribution and Class III Wastewater licenses within 2.5 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist Director with administration, goals, policies, budgets, and long-range plans.
• Coordinate Public Works divisions, personnel, equipment, facilities, and programs.
• Oversee utility construction and ensure work complies with plans, specs, schedules, and regulations.
• Coordinate utility activities with other City departments and external stakeholders.
• Manage asset management and capital improvement programs for water and wastewater assets.
