Job summary

City of Rockville is seeking a qualified Crew Supervisor-Public Works II to oversee storm drain maintenance, leaf collection, and snow and ice removal operations. The role supervises crews, coordinates with residents and contractors, and supports after-hours emergency responses, reporting to the Operations Maintenance Superintendent.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least four years of public works experience; a CDL with endorsements and Water Distribution I and Wastewater

Qualifications

• High school degree and four years of progressively responsible public works experience.
• CDL with required endorsements and state certifications (Water Distribution I, Wastewater Collection II).
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, field safety, and work zone practices.
• Ability to supervise a union workforce and train staff.

Responsibilities

• Supervises crews during routine and after hour emergency responses (storm drain, street, water, sewer).
• Maintains records of work orders, costs, timekeeping, and incident reports; supervises equipment care.
• Communicates with residents, contractors, and managers; coordinates responses with supervisors.
• Oversees safety training, permits, and compliance with OSHA standards; reviews plans and specs.
