Job summary

The SMSC Public Works Department in Prior Lake, MN is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to coordinate multi-project efforts, develop plans and estimates, and ensure safe, on-time delivery. Ideal candidates have AutoCAD experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, scheduling, and reporting on cost forecasts. A degree in construction-related field and 4 years of PM experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction management, construction or civil engineering, or related field.
• 4 years of proven experience in project management from project development to project close-out.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (preferred).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiar with Microsoft Project (preferred).
• Knowledge of construction law and building codes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative direction and oversight for Public Works construction and maintenance projects prior to and during project timeline.
• Coordinate and manage internal and external resources through the completion of assigned projects.
• Assist with development of construction plans, specifications and permit submittals.
• Develop preliminary project estimates and assist with Capital Improvement Plan development.
• Provide/develop project performance status reports regarding cost forecasts, schedule and safety.
• Maintain oversight of project budget, track budget adjustments, process invoices.
