Job summary

City of Oviedo is seeking a Public Works Construction Coordinator to oversee city construction projects, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and in compliance with specifications. You will assist with contracts, coordinate teams, monitor progress, and ensure quality and safety standards under supervision.

The role requires an Associate's degree in construction or Civil Engineering Tech and at least two years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in construction and/or Civil Engineering Technology or similar degree.
• Minimum of two years of experience in engineering, infrastructure inspection, construction, or related works.
• Must have or obtain Florida MOT certification within 90 days of employment.
• Completion of FDOT courses in contract plans reading, earthwork inspection, sub grade inspection, base inspection, construction math, pipe placement, structures inspection I and II and asphaltic concrete testing.

Responsibilities

• Assists in managing complex construction projects ensuring compliance with plans, specs, ordinances, rules, regulations, and standards.
• Administers contracts with contractors, consultants, and suppliers during construction, monitoring timelines and change orders.
• Provides budget oversight and reviews pay applications from contractors.
• Communicates with residents and prepares notices and bulletins about projects for public dissemination.
