Job summary

You will develop plans, review drawings, assist with procurement and grants, and coordinate with consultants and agencies to deliver complex public works projects on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 5-7 years’ practical design/field experience in civil engineering, architecture, land use planning or related field.
• Advanced knowledge of civil engineering principles, public infrastructure, and construction standards.
• Experience coordinating with planners, consultants, and multiple agencies.

Responsibilities

• Manages design and construction of public works projects including streets, water/sewer, parks and municipal facilities
• Develops multi-year implementation plans for maintenance/upgrade of existing systems
• Coordinates with design consultants to prepare concept plans for infrastructure improvements
• Reviews plans and specifications prior to procurement or construction to ensure City requirements are met
• Assists with procurement for design and construction in compliance with procurement laws
• Tracks permitting requirements with outside agencies and reports progress
• Administers construction activities and performs field inspections
