Public Works and Property Manager
Starting Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
The Village of Riverwoods (population 3,784) is seeking an experienced and motivated Public Works and Property Manager to join our team. Founded in 1959 along the scenic Des Plaines River in Lake County, Riverwoods is an environmentally conscious residential community just 30 miles north of Chicago. Known for its preserved woodlands, natural beauty, and strong sense of community, Riverwoods offers an outstanding quality of life with convenient access to major highways (2 miles off I-294 on Lake Cook Road), dining, and shopping.
The Public Works and Property Manager is a multi-faceted position responsible for the oversight and management of public works including municipal water, sewer and roads, as well as the public buildings and spaces in the Village as well as any other related duties as assigned by the Director of Community Services or the Mayor. Performs a variety of administrative, operational and project coordination responsibilities in support of departmental operations and helps ensure compliance with applicable Village ordinances, policies, and procedures.
The ideal candidate will be adaptable, detail-oriented, and collaborative, with at least three years of work experience in public works administration and operations, and construction project coordination or related field.Experience and the ability to coordinate projects and manage multiple priorities is required. Solid computer and oral and written communication skills are needed.Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.This position is an on-site position generally scheduled Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pm.
