Job summary

The Village of Oswego, a growing community just southwest of Chicago, seeks a qualified Director of Public Works to guide key infrastructure initiatives and long-range planning. You will oversee major projects, including the transition to Lake Michigan water, Wolfs Crossing corridor improvements, and a new Public Works facility, while supporting continued growth and community services.

Ideal candidates have a strong public works background, a relevant degree, and significant leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, civil engineering or related field.
• 7+ years public works experience.
• 5+ years supervisory experience.
• Valid Illinois driver’s license.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in public or business administration.

Responsibilities

• Guide major infrastructure initiatives, including the transition to Lake Michigan water.
• Lead improvements along the Wolfs Crossing corridor and the completion of a new Public Works facility.
• Support continued community growth and long‑range infrastructure planning.

Education
