The Town of Chapel Hill Public Works Department is seeking a part-time Administrative Analyst to provide essential support. The role offers in-person work at 6850 Millhouse Road and provides opportunities to gain insight into municipal operations, while working on clerical, budgeting, and reporting tasks.
Qualifications include a high school diploma, one year of admin or customer service experience, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

The purpose of this position is to provide administrative and analytical support to the Public Works department. This part‑time position provides a valuable opportunity to gain a unique view of the inner workings of Town government, as well as gain entry‑level public sector experience.

High school diploma or equivalent required. Students with a background in Public Administration, Public Policy or a related field are encouraged to apply.
One year of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience required.
A valid NC driver’s license and the availability of private transportation or the ability to provide transportation between job sites is required.

Employees hired after June 30, 2010, in a regular full‑time or regular part‑time position are required to participate in the Retirement Health Savings Plan. Contributions are taken on a pre‑tax basis. The current contribution amount is 1%.
All employees in regular full or part time position are required to contribute to the retirement system. Contributions are taken on a pre‑tax basis. The current contribution amount is 6%.
The Town provides full and part time regular employees with an individual term life insurance policy. Employees have the option of purchasing additional life insurance for a small fee. Dependent life insurance is also available.
All employees hired after July 1, 2007 are required to have direct deposit.
