Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences, public administration, or closely related field.
• Minimum of six years public utility operations experience, including at least three years in a supervisory position.
• Master’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, directs, coordinates and inspects maintenance, operation, and repair of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Assesses needs for public utilities and delivers responsive services and resources.
• Prepares Utilities Division annual budget and manages operating and capital budgets.
• Determines priorities and allocates resources.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates subordinate supervisors to ensure service levels.
• Meets with the public to explain services and resolve complaints.
• Advises consulting engineers and contractors on utility design, construction, maintenance, and repair.
• Coordinates with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Represents the Town and speaks to civic/professional groups on utility matters.
• Analyzes real estate development projects including appraisals, rental rates, and financial analysis.
