Job summary

The City of Maypearl is seeking a semi-skilled worker to perform construction, maintenance, and repair tasks within street and parks facilities. The role focuses on keeping recreation areas clean and safe and supporting the Public Works Department in daily operations.

Responsibilities include mowing, edging, drainage work, signage installation, equipment operation, light building repairs, restroom cleaning, and event setup for community centers, under supervision as needed.

Responsibilities

• Mows grass, edges curbs and sidewalks.
• Maintains drainage ways, curbs, gutters, cleans storm drains and structures.
• Paints pavement markings and striping.
• Installation and maintenance of street and traffic signs.
• Operates landscaping and street maintenance equipment.
• Uses hand tools and equipment to patch street surfaces and dig holes.
• Cleans and disinfects restrooms in community buildings and restrooms.
• Collects brushes and debris from streets and loads materials for disposal.
• Assists with setting up community centers for events and moves furniture/equipment.
• Performs landscaping maintenance such as picking up trash and debris.
• Performs routine repairs on fixtures, furniture or structures and assists with painting.
• Assists with maintenance of public parks and splash pad.
• Cleans, maintains, and safeguards tools and equipment.
• Performs outdoor work in all weather with exposure to equipment hazards.
