Job summary

The Trust for Governors Island is seeking a Project Manager, Real Estate & Planning to support the planning, leasing, and development of the Island. You will lead or assist in all phases of projects, including initial planning, research, and solvency analyses.

The role requires strong quantitative and negotiation skills, collaboration across Legal, Design & Construction, and Public Affairs, and a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field.
• Strong quantitative, financial analysis and real estate modelling (MS/Excel).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the organization externally.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and key issues.
• Timely respond to tenant leads and inquiries; maintain a prospect pipeline.
• Coordinate outside services (appraisals, surveys, studies) as necessary.
• Track progress, performance, and milestones; maintain project files.
• Communicate clearly with prospective partners, Trust leadership, and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Legal, Design & Construction, Property Management, and Public Affairs.
