Job summary

The Town of Haverhill is seeking a full-time Public Services Coordinator / Code Enforcement Officer to coordinate public services (Solid Waste, Emergency Preparedness, Local Mitigation Strategy, Floodplain Coordination) and enforce town codes.

The role includes field inspections, applying regulations, issuing notices, and presenting cases to a Special Magistrate, with liaison duties to engineers and vendors. Some nights and weekends may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate's degree in Public Administration or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in local government code enforcement preferred.
• Qualified Stormwater Management Inspector certification desirable; FACE certifications advantageous.
• Ability to obtain FACE certifications and Stormwater Inspector certification within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate public services (Solid Waste, Emergency Preparedness, Local Mitigation Strategy, Floodplain Coordination).
• Enforce Town Codes by investigating violations, issuing notices, and preparing cases for Special Magistrate.
• Conduct field inspections and interpret technical legal provisions and directives.
• Serve as liaison for infrastructure projects and coordinate with engineers, mosquito abatement, street sweeping, and waste contractors.
• Occasional night and weekend work may be required.
