Job summary

The Town of Houlton is seeking a Code Enforcement Officer/Health Officer/E911 Addressing Officer who will engage with the public both in-office and in the field. Responsibilities include issuing permits, inspections, and maintaining records.

The successful candidate will enforce municipal and state codes and ordinances. The position offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, and retirement options, and requires state certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Proven communication skills are required.
• Considerable knowledge, training, and experience in building and construction trades.
• State certification in Code Enforcement, Local Plumbing, and MUBEC required within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Issue permits and perform inspections.
• Maintain records and review plans.
• Interpret plans and investigate complaints.
