Job summary

Richland County Public Works seeks a Manager Of Special Services to lead critical programs overseeing community litter control, beautification initiatives and court-ordered community service. You will set policies, manage staff, and coordinate with state and local agencies to ensure safety and compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, six years of leadership experience, and a valid driver’s license; SLEO certification is preferred.

Qualifications

Requires bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, public administration, business, management or a closely related field.
Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Preferred: S.C. Criminal Justice Academy Class III Special Law Enforcement (SLEO) officer certification.
Requires six years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

Prepares internal correspondence for Council Action and Ordinances.
Manages Homeowner’s Association Community Clean Sweeps and annual Beautification Conference.
Interviews and recommends hires, promotions, and discharge of employees.
Directs Litter Control Program and liaises with multiple agencies.
Coordinates Employment Monitoring Program and court-ordered community service.
Develops and enforces program policies, procedures, rules and safety standards.
Develops and manages annual budget and oversees voting machine setup and maintenance.
