Job summary

Westerly Library and Wilcox Park seeks a personable, public service–oriented individual to join the busy Public Services Department. Duties include checking materials in and out, issuing new library cards, assisting patrons in locating books, and reserving books through interlibrary loans.

You will also answer phones and shelve materials, with potential supervision of volunteers and help in other departments.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to shelve books in alphabetical and numerical order.
• Mid-level computer skills.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Check materials in and out and issue library cards.
• Assist patrons in locating books on shelves.
• Reserve books through interlibrary loans and answer phones.
• Shelve materials and support other duties as needed.
• May supervise volunteers and provide computer assistance.
• Enforce library policy and help other departments as needed.
