Job summary

The Texas Workforce Commission's Vocational Rehabilitation Department is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to join the VR team. Located at 4424 North Fwy, Houston, this entry-level role supports VR Counselors, provides program information, and assists with case management to help customers achieve employment goals.

The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or higher; some college credits may substitute for experience.
• 1+ year of full-time qualifying experience in human services, social science, business, or related field for RA I.
• Bachelor's degree plus 1.5 years of experience for RA II; more experience may substitute for education.
• Two and a half years of experience for RA III or higher as per career ladder.
• Two years and six months for Sr. RA with education substitutions.
• Experience in case management support, purchasing, and knowledge of disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist VR Counselors with intake and case management tasks.
• Maintain case files and accuracy in the electronic system.
• Support providers, customers, staff, and vendors.
• Prepare and review reports on monitored services.
• Participate in VR Services training and program information sessions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
