Job summary

Capital Development Board in Dixon, Illinois seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead state capital projects from conception through close-out, ensuring scope, budget and schedule are met.

You will coordinate design and construction with consultants and using agencies, review cost estimates, manage contracts, and train junior staff. A related Bachelor’s degree and PM experience are required, with hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a closely related field, and 3 years of professional construction project management experience, OR an Associate’s degree with 5 years of PM experience.
• Requires 4 years of advanced hands-on experience with enterprise project tracking databases, automated change management portals, digital document repositories, MS Office 365, and electronic PDF markup tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary state project manager for assigned capital construction projects across state facilities and higher education institutions.
• Chair orientation meetings with Architects/Engineers and Using Agencies.
• Evaluate, negotiate, and execute RFP/CO, Proceed Orders, and A/E Modifications using CDB’s systems.
• Oversee development of project budgets and ensure resources are used cost-effectively.
• Maintain real-time project status in CDB databases.
• Assist with training junior personnel.
• Perform other duties as required within scope.
